New member Ruairi Fallon McGuigan wins printmaking prize

Flux, reduction woodcut, by Ruairi Fallon McGuigan

Congratulations to one of our newest members, Ruairi Fallon McGuigan, who was awarded the Society of Wood Engravers prize for his reduction woodcut "Flux" at the prestigious National Original Print Exhibition this week.

Ruairi also won the Jackson's Emerging Artist Prize for one of his paintings earlier this year.

He is taking part in the National Original Print Exhibition alongside fellow Greenwich Printmakers Kit Boyd, Christina France, Tammy Mackay and Liorah Tchiprout.

The National Original Print Exhibition, which is organised by the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers, is one of the leading annual open-submission printmaking exhibitions and receives entries from all over the world.

It runs at Bankside Gallery in London, near the Tate Modern, until September 29.
