Caroline Whitehead

Caroline lives and works in East London. For the past 10 years, she’s been obsessed with alternative forms of lithography (mokulito / wood litho, kitchen litho, prontoplate litho and waterless litho). She also makes large monoprints on paper and small monoprints prints on clay. As well as making her own prints, she teaches mokulito and kitchen litho at East London Printmakers and as a guest tutor at printmaking studios outside London.

 

Caroline has a degree in Fine Art from the Ruskin School of Art, University of Oxford and an MA in Sequential Design from the University of Brighton. As Caroline Glicksman, she is the author/illustrator of several children’s picture books and has translated many catalogue and exhibition texts from Norwegian for the Munch Museum, the National Museum in Oslo and other Norwegian galleries.

 

She exhibits regularly with East London Printmakers and Printmakers Council and her work is held in public collections including the V&A, Manchester Metropolitan University, Winchester School of Art, Scarborough Museum and the Royal Free Hospital.When she is not printing or translating,

 

Caroline is most likely to be found swimming or playing the bassoon (and contrabassoon).
