Fiona Wallin

Fiona Wallin is a printmaker based in South West London. She gained her BA in Fine Art Painting from Loughborough University in 2004, then began her journey in printmaking many years later following a series of courses at her local adult community college.

She takes her inspiration from a variety of sources - including coastal environments and the urban landscape of London - with a particular interest in the relationship between nature and the man-made. Colour and composition are important elements of her work - often using her own photographs as starting points for projects, she combines bold colours with considered crops of her subjects to give small details or moments the focus.

She loves the tactile, physical nature of carving and printing, incorporating hand-drawn and hand-painted elements into her work. She primarily works in screenprint, collagraph and linocut and is based in a small home studio in her garden.
