Stephen Robson

Stephen studied Fine Art at Goldsmith's College, and became interested in photography there. Professional photography has been his main occupation, but in recent years he has made a return to drawing and painting, and studied printmaking. Stephen now divides his time between these different ways of working. He joined Greenwich Printmakers in 2010, having produced a series of prints of the Thames at Greenwich. He also works in Norfolk, and often makes trips to the Kent coast and the Thames estuary.
In 2019 there was a shift in both the prints and in painting, towards using more colour and abstract mark making. The still life paintings allowed Stephen more freedom to experiment with colour and that in turn has led to a way of working that could refer to memory or a sensation.
