Kit Boyd
Kit Boyd ARE is an Associate member of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers.
His artworks explore our relationship with landscape and our place in nature. He follows the British romantic tradition with reference to Samuel Palmer and the neo-romantic artists of the 1940s.
Most of his prints follow on from an original colour painting or drawing. These can be seen on his website. Hand-coloured versions of some etchings are also available in our gallery, as well as variations on linocuts.
Kit works from Art Hub studios next to the Thames Barrier in Charlton. Recent commissions have included original ink paintings for English Heritage, 6 posters for train stations on the Darent Valley in Kent, including Sevenoaks and Shoreham, and a book jacket linocut for Penguin Random House for Jean Giono's The Man who Planted Trees.
His work is referenced in several books including The Romantic Impulse by Gerard Hastings and The Poetic Impulse: The Etchings of Samuel Palmer, his Peers and Followers by Elizabeth Harvey-Lee.
He had a show in August 2023 at Francis-Iles Gallery in Rochester: Masters of Landscape: Rowland Hilder, Kit Boyd and Gordon Rushmer.
