Janet Wilson

Janet Wilson lives and works in Blackheath in South London. She is a member of Greenwich Printmakers and East London Printmakers and works in the ELP studio in Mile End.

The prints relate to the landscape. Janet aims to evoke both a sense of place and also the sublime character of the natural world. Inspiration comes from traces of life left behind: fossils, leaf skeletons, bones and seashells and in mapping and the examination of scale - from the great to the microscopic.

She uses drawings, paintings, photographs and memory as the source for the images and often combines painterly, expressionist monoprints with more formal etching, collagraph or carborundum plates.
